Korda and Sei Young Kim share lead in tight US Open

Nelly Korda and Sei Young Kim are the joint leaders after the third round of the US Women's Open in LA.

The duo finished on six under par to move one clear of the chasing pack of the US's Jennifer Kupcho and South Korea's In Gee Chun at Riviera Country Club.

World number one Korda has four career majors but has never won the US Open, but she kept up her excellent form with birdies on the 16th, 17th and 18th holes for the third consecutive round.

"It's always amazing to be in this position," Korda said. "That's what we work so hard for, to be in this spot. So whatever happens tomorrow happens, but I'm going to give it my all and see what the outcome is."

Kim, who made five birdies and two bogeys, is eyeing her second career major title.

"It's been a long time since I won a major championship," Kim said. "Last time it was 2020, KPMG (Women's PGA Championship). So, yeah, maybe I play under pressure, but I try to just do what I have to do to focus on the course."

Defending champion Stark shot a 68 on Saturday and is tied for 11th at 2 under, while Irish interest ended on Friday as both Leona Maguire and Olivia Mehaffey missed the cut.
