Gary Palmer won the Republican primary election for the U.S. House of Representatives for Alabama’s 6th Congressional District during the special election on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
According to unofficial poll results, Palmer secured 24,482 votes at 86.98 percent of the vote on Tuesday's election, taking a lead over his opponent for the Republican nomination, Case Dixon, who received 3,665 votes at 13.02 percent.
“Tonight the voters of Alabama's 6th District have spoken again, and they have spoken clearly,” Palmer said the night of the election. “With over 80 percent support of the voters, this is the second overwhelming victory in a matter of months, and that is not an accident; that is a signal.”
Palmer expressed his gratitude to the voters of the 6th Congressional District for their support of the work he has been engaged in with Congress.
