Decision Desk HQ projects Rep. Greg Stanton wins Arizona Democratic primary
Decision Desk HQ projected that Democratic Rep. Greg Stanton fended off a challenge from progressive organizer Kai Newkirk in Tuesday’s primary for Arizona’s 4th Congressional District, the tabulation service reported.
Stanton is the incumbent in the 4th District.
Newkirk criticized Stanton for accepting corporate donations and for a past vote, according to statements from the challenger.
Decision Desk HQ projected Stanton easily defeated Newkirk. The victory secures Stanton the Democratic nomination and sends him on to the general election.
