Grijalva, Butierez advance unopposed in CD7 primary
Preliminary results for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District primary election have been posted, with Democratic incumbent Adelita Grijalva and Republican challenger Daniel Francis Butierez Sr. both running unopposed in their respective party primaries.
In the uncontested primaries, Grijalva received 49,107 votes in the Democratic primary, while Butierez secured 18,181 votes in the Republican primary in early results Wednesday morning.
Both candidates advance from their party primaries to the Nov. 3 general election to represent an expansive district spanning Avondale, Litchfield Park, Tolleson, Buckeye, Tucson, Yuma, and Nogales, along with border communities and rural areas across Southern Arizona.
