2026 Election Results: In CA-31, D-Gil Cisneros holds commanding lead over 2 challengers

Rep. Gil Cisneros, D-Covina, who is seeking another term, was ahead of two other candidates, based on the latest partial vote count from the primary election, which the California secretary of state’s office released Wednesday evening.

Besides the Democratic incumbent, two Republicans appeared on the ballot: Eric Ching, the former mayor of Walnut, and Erskine Levi, a retired history teacher from Glendora.

Cisneros led both, with 57.1% of the vote. Ching had 26.6% of the vote while Levi had 16.4%, based on the latest update, posted around 5:45 p.m.

The top two vote-getters in the primary election, regardless of party affiliation or even if one person gets more than 50% of the vote, will face off in the November general election.
