Live Blog: Mai Vang Takes the Lead
June 2 could be a big day for DSA’s electoral project in California: DSA-LA is looking to expand its presence on Los Angeles City Council and win its first city-wide office, Sacramento DSA has a candidate seriously contending for a top-two run-off spot against an incumbent U.S. representative, and other candidates are contending across the state. Californians can put their ballot in the mail as late as today, so late-arriving ballots may mean that close election are not decided for weeks. Democratic Left’s records show 21 endorsed candidates on the ballot on June 2 (not counting two uncontested candidates in Democratic primaries in New Mexico).
Mai Vang, the Sacramento DSA-endorsed challenger to long-term U.S. Rep. Doris Matsui, will have the lead as the race goes to a November run-off.
