2026 Election Results: In CA-34, Jimmy Gomez and Angela Gonzales-Torres hold lead for top two spots
Democratic incumbent Jimmy Gomez continued leading a six-person House race to represent a district that includes downtown Los Angeles, based on partial results from the primary election that were released by the L.A. County registrar’s office Wednesday afternoon.
First elected to Congress in 2017, Gomez is facing challenges from three Democrats: Arthur Dixon, a community organizer; Angela Gonzales-Torres, a justice advocate and former Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council member; and Robert Lucero Jr., a housing construction advocate and former national director for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s 2024 presidential campaign.
Gomez’s other challengers include Republican Calvin Lee, a global healthcare entrepreneur, and no-party candidate Loren Colin, the owner of a marketing agency.
