New congressional districts in June 2 primary election

Chino Valley voters will cast their ballots in the June 2 primary election with new Congressional district boundaries approved by voters with the passage of Prop. 50 last year.
In Chino Hills, the choices for District 35 will be Norma Torres and Mike Cargile. Both candidates will automatically advance to the Nov. 3 election due to the state’s open primary system, which was approved by voters in 2011.
Under this system, the top two vote-getters in most races will advance to the Nov. 3 election even if they are from the same party.
In District 35, the winner will represent the entire city, not just the Los Serranos and Fairfield Ranch community. The district will not include the entire city of Chino, just The Preserve.
In Chino, the choices for District 31 will be Gil Cisneros, Erskine Levi and Eric Ching. The winner will represent northern Chino in the area north of Cypress Avenue and Chino …
