Nearly 24 hours after polls closed on California’s June 2 primary, the state’s famously sluggish vote-counting machine has managed to tabulate roughly 60 percent of the ballots in the newly redrawn 42nd Congressional District.
Democrat Robert Garcia is officially advancing to November’s general election while the Republican side remains too close to call between Huntington Beach City School District Trustee Brian Burley and Newport Beach chef Noah Von Blom.
