Incumbent Dave Min leads race of nine candidates vying for CA-47
The latest returns Tuesday night had incumbent Rep. Dave Min leading a field of nine candidates in California’s 47th Congressional District, with Republican business owner Jenny Rae Le Reux in second place.
The race for this Orange County seat – which includes Dana Point, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel and Tustin – drew a slew of contenders, including Democrat attorney Hunter Garcia Miranda and several Republicans: former Assemblymember Bill Bough, attorney Christopher Gonzales, businessman Michael Maxsenti and Le Reux. Others in the race include no party preference candidates Jesus Patino, an engineer; and Eric Troutman, an attorney; and Libertarian Derrick Michael Reid, a geopolitical commentator.
Min was first elected to Congress in 2024, running for a spot left open by outgoing Rep. Katie Porter. He’s a former state legislator and a lawyer with a background in financial regulation.
