Rep. Jeff Hurd beats primary challenger in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District
Incumbent to face Democrat Dwayne Romero in November

U.S. Rep. Jeff Hurd secured the Republican nomination for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District on Tuesday.
Hurd defeated primary challenger Ron Hanks, a more conservative former state representative, with 67.78% of the vote as of 8:18 p.m. The Associated Press called the Republican race at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday.
Hurd, a Grand Junction Republican and attorney, was first elected to the seat in 2024 after U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert moved across the state to run in the more conservative-leaning 4th Congressional District.
Democrat Dwayne Romero won the Democratic nomination in the district, with 55.17% of the vote over Alex Kelloff as of 8:18 p.m.
