Stonington set to build on its most valuable development with new apartments
A developer took a key step toward completing the Harbor Heights apartment complex in Stonington, amid continuing housing demand as General Dynamics Electric Boat gears up for a major workforce expansion in Connecticut and Rhode Island.
The Stonington Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Commission approved a wetlands application for a new apartment building with 44 units at Harbor Heights. The complex is located at 90 Perkins Farm Drive, east of Mystic Aquarium , on the site of the historic Perkins Farm property off Jerry Browne Road.
Under the first two phases dubbed Beacon and Enclave, Harbor Heights has nearly 250 units, with the development visible from Interstate 95.
Lattizori Development principal David Lattizori told CT Insider he expects to complete the newest Harbor Heights addition by the fall of 2027, with the Stonington Planning & Zoning Commission having scheduled a public hearing on the expansion for March 3.
