Democrats vying for 2nd Congressional District seat face off in debate ahead of primary
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Gray Florida Capital Bureau) - Democratic candidates for the Second Congressional District gathered Tuesday for a debate ahead of the primary election next week.
Yen Bailey, Nic Zateslo, Brice Barnes and Amanda Green answered questions on healthcare, data centers and federal policies, each walking a tight rope between the surge of progressivism in the Democratic party and the reality of North Florida voters.
They addressed things like government accountability, progressive ideals and the future of Medicaid.
Green said she’s focused on government accountability. “I plan to lean heavily on my experience with the federal acquisitions regulation and managing federal dollars for each and every one of you and get back to smart management in government,” she said.
On the question of impeachment, Green said while President Donald Trump should be investigated, it wouldn’t be her top priority.
