Trump endorses Austin Rogers in Florida CD 2 race
The president issued the endorsement after sitting out the GOP primary.
Former President Donald Trump endorsed Austin Rogers for Florida's 2nd Congressional District.
Rogers, a Panama City lawyer, won the Republican primary after running as a strong Trump supporter.
He will face Democratic nominee Amanda Marie Green in the November general election.
After staying out of the 2nd Congressional District's primary race, President Donald Trump now has endorsed the victorious GOP nominee, Panama City lawyer and "MAGA Warrior" Austin Rogers.
Trump announced the endorsement Sept. 1 on his Truth Social social media account.
"A lifelong Panama City native, very successful Attorney, Civic Leader, and former General Counsel to GREAT U.S. Senator Rick Scott, Austin has dedicated his life to serving his Community," Trump wrote.
"Austin has an incredible wife, Hala, and three beautiful children. In Congress, Austin will fight tirelessly to Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Advance Election Integrity, Strengthen our Military/Veterans, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment," he added.
"Austin Rogers has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Representative from Florida’s 2nd Congressional District — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!"

The race to succeed retiring Republican U.S. Rep. Neal Dunn comes as Democrats seek to chip away at the GOP's narrow House majority and as voters weigh competing visions for Congress during President Donald Trump's second term.
Rogers, a 35-year-old former aide to Sen. Rick Scott and congressional attorney, prevailed in a Republican field dominated by candidates competing to prove their loyalty to Trump. Rogers ran as the most outspoken Trump supporter on the ballot.
"It's an honor to have the endorsement of the president of the greatest nation in the world and (I'm) so very grateful for his support," Rogers said.
"Unabashedly, unequivocally pro-Trump and MAGA," Rogers said at town halls, in television commercials and campaign literature. In a victory statement, Rogers made no mention of the president. however. Recent polls show Trump’s approval rating is underwater in Florida with 46% of voters approve of his performance and 47% disapprove.
“Florida’s Second Congressional District deserves strong conservative representation. I certainly know I will have big shoes to fill in respect to Congressman Neal Dunn. I’m committed to defending the Constitution with faith, virtue, and grit," he said then.
He had campaigned to cut taxes, reduce federal regulations, impose stronger immigration enforcement and support Trump's economic and trade policies.
Rogers faces the Democratic nominee, former international development contractor Amanda Marie Green of Tallahassee, in the Nov. 3 general election.
"The only endorsement that matters in this race is that of the people of North Florida. While D.C. insider Austin Rogers is focused on winning the approval of politicians in Washington and their billionaire bosses, Amanda Marie Green is focused on earning the trust of those who actually live alongside her in this congressional district," said Erin Moffet, spokesperson for Amanda Marie Green for Congress.
"To our opponent's chagrin, this race isn’t about who has the most connections in Washington, D.C. or the wealthiest family and donors. North Florida isn’t something you can buy, and its people are tired of the broken system that only delivers for billionaires but not for us. This race is about who will actually answer to the people of north Florida and there's only one candidate in this race that has pledged loyalty to the people first."
