GOP Rep. Laurel Lee, Hillsborough Black Democratic leader discuss redrawn maps
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Rep. Laurel Lee (R – District 15) appeared on an upcoming episode of Battleground Florida. She discussed several topics including the Iran War, tensions with Cuba, and investigation into democratic fundraising platform ActBlue, and redrawn congressional maps.
Lee is running for reelection in the redrawn District 15 that goes from the City of Tampa to Citrus County.
Angela Birdsong is the president of the Hillsborough County Democratic Black Caucus. Birdsong questions whether minority democratic voters will have an equal voice in the US House in redrawn District 15 that now includes East Tampa. This part of the city is known for its large minority population. Birdsong discussed concerns over the newly redrawn map along with The Florida SAVE Act.
