McBath announces $1.5M federal YouthBuild grant for CobbWorks workforce training program

Rep. Lucy McBath, of Georgia’s 6th U.S. Congressional District, announced that CobbWorks Inc. has been awarded a $1.5 million federal grant through the U.S. Department of Labor’s YouthBuild program to expand workforce training and education opportunities for young people in Cobb County.
The grant will support a collaborative training initiative led by CobbWorks in partnership with Construction Ready, which will serve as the primary construction training provider, and Cobb Adult Education, which will provide education and GED preparation services. McBath said she supported the grant application by sending a letter to U.S. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer in February.
