Candidates in Georgia, Tennessee U.S. House races get Trump endorsements

(The Center Square) – President Donald Trump continued his flurry of endorsements late Monday afternoon with nods to congressional candidates in Georgia and Tennessee.
In Georgia, the president encouraged voters to support John Cowan's bid in the 11th Congressional District. In Tennessee, state Sen. Brent Taylor got the affirmation in a newly redrawn 9th Congressional District.
Cowan is trying to succeed Republican Barry Loudermilk. His resignation is effective at the end of his term.
The 11th District is in the northwestern part of the state. It includes Bartow, Gordon and Pickens counties, as well as parts of Cobb and Cherokee counties.
"A proven leader, John has served his community well as a highly respected neurosurgeon, small business owner, and civic leader, prior to running for Congress," Trump wrote on social media.
