Hawaii primary election results 2026
(NewsNation) — Hawaii voters decided their party’s nominations for governor and for representative in the 1st and 2nd Congressional Districts in the primary election on Saturday.
Current Gov. Josh Green handily won his race with more than 89% of the vote. Other candidates were Duke Bourgoin, George Lucas-Tadeo, and Lauren Shim.
Republicans chose gubernatorial candidate Gary Cordery.
Democrats selected current Rep. Ed Case to represent Hawaii’s 1st Congressional District. Democrats chose from a crowded ballot that included Ben Fatula, Jarrett Keohokalole, Jennifer Booker and Nicholas Kiswanto.
Republican Adriel Lam ran unopposed for the 1st District.
To represent Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District, Democrats overwhelmingly chose current Rep. Jill Tokuda, who won her race with over 91% of the vote against candidates Greg Guithues, Kirill Basin and Steven King.
Republican Brenton Awa ran unopposed for the 2nd District.
