Congressman Zach Nunn’s been MIA
Congressman Zach Nunn began serving Iowa’s Third Congressional District in 2022. He has not held any town hall meetings. He makes Facebook posts touting meetings with constituents. All of the constituents were small invited guests with 10-15 attendees.
I don’t understand the rationale limiting access of Congressional representatives? All six Iowa representatives in Washington, D.C. do the same thing.
Previous Third District representatives, David Young (R) and Cindy Axne (D), had regular town hall meetings. Each used a different format. Sometimes representatives took questions as hands were raised or questions were submitted and drawn from a container. They offered individual meetings with elected officials away from the group.
There was no limit on attendance. It was a place to get questions answered, share concerns and build relationships with our federal representatives. Show up. Ask questions. Sit and listen. Sometimes questioners were passionate about an issue. It didn’t get out o…
