Illinois — 4th District

I do not support legislation that freezes or discounts property tax assessments for large-scale private developments like a professional sports stadium. While I value economic development and job creation, property taxes fund our schools, public safety and essential local services. Granting special tax treatment to multibillion-dollar private projects shifts the burden onto homeowners, renters and small businesses who already struggle with affordability. If public resources are involved, there must be full transparency, clear community benefits, enforceable labor standards and guarantees that local residents, not just corporate interests, share in the gains. Illinois should not engage in deals that socialize risk while privatizing profit.

Illinois must honor the promises made to workers while pursuing long-term fiscal stability. There is no single solution. The state must continue making required payments, improve fiscal discipline and address structural budget challenges that crowd out services. We should focus on growing the economy, stabilizing communities and expanding the tax base so pension obligations are sustainable over time. Any approach must be responsible, transparent and legal, protecting retirees while ensuring Illinois remains economically competitive.

Tax increases should be a last resort, not a default solution. I would only consider them in limited circumstances, such as a severe economic crisis, and only if paired with strong protections for working families, seniors and small businesses. Any discussion of new revenue must include accountability, spending reform and fairness. Illinois residents already face one of the highest tax burdens in the country. Government must demonstrate efficiency and transparency before asking people to pay more.

Affordability and stability are the most pressing challenges in the 4th District. Families are being squeezed by rising housing costs, property taxes, public safety concerns and economic uncertainty. Too many longtime residents feel at risk of being priced out of their own communities. My approach is community-driven: expanding housing options, supporting small businesses, strengthening public safety through prevention and trust, and ensuring state resources reach the neighborhoods that need them most.

I grew up in Chicago and have spent the past 15 years living in and raising my family in the 4th District. I know what it feels like when systems fail working families, not in theory but in real life. That lived experience shapes how I lead and why I’m running. I bring real-world leadership from outside the political machine, building organizations, managing budgets, keeping people safe and being accountable for outcomes, not talking points. I am not running to climb a political ladder; I am running to fix what isn’t working. As State Representative, my focus is simple: results, transparency and accountability. Residents deserve a government that listens, tells the truth and delivers, not one that hides behind process or excuses. I will fight to ensure everyday people, not special interests or insiders, have a real voice in Springfield. This campaign is about restoring trust, solving real problems and making sure the 4th District is represented by someone who understands struggle, values hard work and shows up, every time.
