Shreve federal funding plans for county clear major hurdle - The Daily Reporter
WASHINGTON — While the proposed final funding must still pass the full House and Senate and be signed into law, a major hurdle has been cleared in Washington, D.C., in an effort by Rep. Jefferson Shreve (IN-06) to secure millions of dollars for Indiana projects, including several in Hancock County.
Shreve announced earlier this week all 17 of his Community Project Funding requests have advanced through the House Appropriations Committee, totaling more than $45 million for Indiana’s Sixth Congressional District. The projects include $1 million for Hancock County to build a new regional water line serving Maxwell and Eden; $1 million for New Palestine to upgrade and extend sewer service to town residents; $1.8 million for Amplify Hancock Innovation Center, a workforce development hub offering industry certifications with Hancock Health and Ivy Tech; $1 million for the City of Greenfield to replace lead pipes; and $500,000 for Green Township Volunteer Fire Department to replace a fire res…
