Potential Candidates discuss 5th Congressional District Run
MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Six potential candidates spoke to KNOE about why they are running for Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District.
Multiple Democratic Candidates who qualified in the Spring have announced their intentions to run, but only one KNOE reached out to, responded.
Dan McKay is a Vietnam War Veteran and Attorney who wants to advocate for what he sees as the concerns of the District.
“Enough with the culture wars!,” McKay said. “Let’s talk about things that help people and reverse population loss in our district. We can do things for people. We can make things better, bring good-paying jobs here, not just data centers, chemical plants, and things of that nature.”
On the Republican Side, Michael Echols believes his experience in Business and in the State Legislature makes him the most qualified candidate.
