Ronald Russell wins Republican nomination for U.S. House in Maine’s CD1
MAINE (WABI) - A winner has been declared in the GOP race for U.S. House in the 1st Congressional District.
Ronald Russell has won the GOP seat for CD1 with 54% of the votes.
That means Russell will take on incumbent Democratic Representative Chellie Pingree in November.
“I will hold a town hall here so that I can tell people what I’m doing, but more importantly, so I can hear what they think I need to be doing in Washington, D.C., and to get their perspective on how the votes ought to be going in Washington, D.C. that’s very, very important to me as a, constituent right now,“ said Russell.
Russell says he learned from running two years ago that he needs to be talking to Democrats and unenrolled voters as well as Republicans on the campaign trail.
