Michigan State Sen. Sean McCann (Citizen Potawatomi Nation) won the Democratic primary Tuesday in Michigan’s 4th Congressional District, securing his party’s nomination to challenge Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga in the November 3 general election.
McCann declared victory Tuesday night, thanking supporters and positioning the race as a choice between his campaign’s focus on working families and what he characterized as Huizenga’s alignment with special interests.
