Rep. Tim Walberg faces backlash from residents at heated town hall in Dowagiac
DOWAGIAC, Mich. (WNDU) - Michigan Fifth District Congressman Tim Walberg faced harsh backlash from his constituents at a town hall meeting this morning in Dowagiac.
More than 50 people from Berrien and Cass counties attended. They expressed frustration on how Congressman Walberg is responding to the Trump administration’s handling of domestic and international affairs.
Rep. Walberg touched upon various issues from federal funding cuts for public media and mail-in ballots to international affairs like the wars between the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East.
The congressman stood up for President Trump, who cut $1.3 billion in federal funding for public media.
Rep. Walberg also spoke on the war in Gaza, pledging his support for Israel. His statements come after more than 20 people were killed in Gaza after Israel attacked one of the main hospitals on Monday.
