PRIMARY RESULTS: Emmer declares victory in 6th District GOP primary

U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer declared victory Tuesday night after easily turning back two Republican challengers in the primary for Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District.
With all the precincts reporting, Emmer had received 53,087 votes, or 80.91%, according to unofficial results from the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office.
Mike Foley followed with 10,022 votes, or 15.27%, while Chris Corey had received 2,502 votes, or 3.81%.
“Jacquie and I are blessed for the resounding support and trust of voters across the Sixth District,” Emmer said in a statement issued shortly before 9 p.m. declaring an “overwhelming victory.”
