U.S. Rep. Fischbach wins GOP endorsement for re-election from 7th District
WILLMAR — Republicans on Saturday endorsed incumbent Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach in her bid for re-election to the U.S. House from Minnesota’s 7th District.
A thank-you post on the Michelle Fischbach for Congress page on Facebook said, “Republicans in #MN07 are united behind proven conservative leadership, defending our majority in the US House, and driving turnout to turn MN Red!”
Social media posts from people in attendance at the 7th Congressional District Republican Party convention Saturday in Marshall indicated she won the endorsement in the third round of voting.
Dave Hughes, of Karlstad, was also seeking endorsement.
He is a retired Air Force major who ran for Congress in 2020, 2018 and 2016, according to a Forum of Fargo-Moorhead story about his campaign. He won the Republican Party endorsement in 2016 and 2018, but lost the race both years.
