House Speaker Mike Johnson backs GOP nominee Laurie Buckhout in Greenville visit
House Speaker Mike Johnson campaigned in Greenville today, backing Republican nominee Laurie Buckhout.
Johnson called North Carolina's 1st Congressional District one of the nation's most critical races for securing a Republican majority in the U.S. House.
The Speaker of the House, who is next in line after the Vice President in the presidential line of succession, was in Eastern North Carolina today.
He says the race for North Carolina's 1st Congressional District is one of the most important in the country and came to support Republican nominee Laurie Buckhout.
Speaker Johnson says there are about 18 to 20 House races nationwide that will determine control of the chamber.
He also says North Carolina's 1st Congressional District is among the top three most important races in the country because the seat is considered competitive following the state's redistricting.
