Chuck Hubbard projected to win nomination for US House District 5
Chuck Hubbard is projected to win the Democratic nomination for U.S. House of Representatives District 5 with 56.73% of the vote, according to unofficial election results.
Hubbard was the Democratic nominee in the 2024 election, running against Rep. Virginia Foxx. He is from Wilkes County and worked as a journalist for the Wilkes Journal-Patriot before entering politics.
Hubbard is also involved with the board of Wilkes Recovery Revolution, the Wilkes Child Abuse Prevention Team and the Wilkes Prison Ministry, according to his campaign website.
He will oppose Republican Virginia Foxx in the fall 2026 midterm elections.
