US House NC District 6 candidates share thoughts on Iran strikes
The March 3 primary election decided the Democratic challenger set to face incumbent Republican Addison McDowell in the U.S. House of Representatives North Carolina District 6 election come November. Cyril Jefferson, the current mayor of High Point, will face McDowell for the District 6 seat that covers several counties and parts of Oak Ridge, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, Salisbury and Kannapolis.
WXII's Serra Sowers heard from both candidates on Wednesday to hear their thoughts on the strikes on Iran, how Congress should get involved and how confident they are in the current administration's work. Here's what they had to say.
Addison McDowell: "It's incredibly clear to me that the president had no choice, because one: Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. And two: an attack on our service members in that region was imminent. And so the president had the decision to make of: do we want to go first, or do we want to wait to get punched? And so I think that he made the right call. …
