$63.2 million in FEMA funding to support Helene recovery in North Carolina

WASHINGTON, D.C. (FOX Carolina) - Congressman Tim Moore announced more than $63.2 million in federal funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for Hurricane Helene recovery projects across North Carolina’s 14th District.

Officials said the funding supports debris removal, infrastructure repairs, utility restoration, and other recovery efforts in communities throughout Western North Carolina.

The following western North Carolina communities and organizations are slated to receive support:

The congressman also said that $875,672.11 is slated to go to the City of Gastonia to repair sewer and waterlines, and another $814,550.40 will go to the City of Hickory to repair the Old Lenoir Road water intake facility.

All funding is authorized under the Robert T. Stafford Act.
