Not only does Laura Gillen have a nasty habit of taking credit for funding she voted against, but a new report reveals that she also has a long record of voting against tax relief for her constituents.
As Hempstead’s Town Supervisor, Gillen proposed a budget that included a tax hike, and when the town board trimmed the fat and turned her proposal into a tax cut, Gillen was the only one to vote against it. And one year later, Gillen again voted no on lower taxes.
And don’t forget, in Congress, Gillen repeatedly voted against increasing the SALT cap.
