Alex Bores ’13 Falls Short in Manhattan Primary Turned AI Battleground

New York Assemblymember Alex Bores ’13 failed to secure the Democratic primary in New York’s 12th Congressional District Tuesday night, losing to Assemblymember and former congressional aide Micah Lasher by a 4.1% margin, in a race that has gained national attention from the $26 million spent by PACs with an interest in artificial intelligence.

A fifth generation New Yorker and an alumnus of Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations and the Georgia Institute of Technology, Bores was first elected as a state assemblymember in 2022.
