New public safety funding is coming to the city of Syracuse and Onondaga County, Rep. John Mannion announced Friday.
Both organizations will share a $151,000 federal grant.
The Syracuse Police Department will use its portion to buy new hardened security barriers for its new Public Safety Building. Other planned purchases include mobile security barriers and new SWAT team equipment.
The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office will use its portion to buy a new snowmobile and buy new equipment for its SWAT team.
