Gies easily beats Stocker in Democratic primary for 23rd Congressional District
Aaron Gies handily defeated Kevin Stocker in Tuesday's Democratic primary for the 23rd Congressional District, sending the Olean theology professor into a clash this November against Rep. Nick Langworthy in a heavily Republican district covering southern Erie County and a large swath of the Southern Tier.
Frequent candidate Kevin Stocker, a lawyer, and first-time contender Aaron Gies, a theology professor, are running in the Democratic primary in New York's 23rd congressional district.
