Democrat Alissa Ellman visits Clayton after primary win in NY-24 race
WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Democratic congressional candidate Alissa Ellman visited Clayton on Monday, days after winning her party’s primary in New York’s 24th Congressional District.
Ellman, a military veteran, spent the morning shaking hands and speaking with residents at Frink Park. She defeated Diana Kastenbaum in the primary election last Tuesday.
The 24th Congressional District covers most of Jefferson County.
Ellman said she believes cooperation across party lines is key to moving the country forward.
“When you have conversations with people, real people, whether they’re Democrat or Republican, agree on about 90% of what we need to do to move this country forward,” Ellman said.
Ellman will face Republican incumbent Claudia Tenney in the November general election.
