Primary results: Morelle wins Democratic primary in New York’s 25th Congressional District
Primary election results are coming in Tuesday night for races across the Rochester region and New York state.
Incumbent Rep. Joe Morelle has won the Democratic nomination for U.S. House in the state's 25th Congressional District, defeating challengers Robin Wilt and Sherita Traywick.

Morelle grew up in Irondequoit and has held the seat since 2018, representing Monroe County and parts of Ontario County.
Morelle, who was endorsed by the Monroe County Democratic Committee, spoke to a crowd at the group's headquarters following his victory. He said he is looking to continue expanding healthcare, increase affordable housing and push back on current federal policies.
