Meet the candidates running for Ohio's 1st District
U.S. Rep. Greg Landsman, a Democrat from Cincinnati, will face Republican Eric Conroy in the race for Ohio's 1st District.
Where is Ohio's 1st District?
Ohio's 1st District includes Clinton County, Warren County and parts of Hamilton County, such as Cincinnati, Cleves, Norwood and St. Bernard, according to Dave's Redistricting.
Ohio Republican legislators redrew the lines last year so that the district now leans more Republican than before: about 52% Republican, according to Dave's Redistricting. Voters can check their district here on the Ohio Secretary of State's website.
Both national Democrats and Republicans have identified this race as crucial to the balance of power in Congress. The 1st District is one of 36 Democrat-held seats the National Republican Congressional Committee is targeting. Swing Left, a nonprofit organization that supports Democrats running for office, has identified Landsman's seat as one of 16 "must-hold" districts.
Who is Greg Landsman?
Landsman was elected to Congress in 2022 and won reelection with about 55% of the vote in 2024 against Republican Orlando Sonza, according to election results from the Ohio Secretary of State.

Landsman grew up in Oxford, Ohio and studied economics and political science at Ohio University. He also has a master's degree in theology from Harvard University, according to his congressional biography.
He lives in Mount Washington with his wife and two children.

He attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and served as an intelligence officer with the Air Force in Japan and Korea. He then joined the CIA as a case officer and was posted in Afghanistan, Poland and Iraq.
