Ohio — 2nd District

Two Democrats, Jen Mazzuckelli and Todd Wilson, are competing in the primary for Ohio's 2nd Congressional District.

The district is strongly conservative and currently represented by Republican Rep. Dave Taylor.

Early voting for the primary race starts April 7, and Election Day is May 5.

Clermont County voters have options when it comes to who will represent them in Congress.

Ohio's 2nd Congressional District includes Clermont County and stretches east to the Ohio-West Virginia border. It has been represented by Republican Rep. Dave Taylor since 2025.

The district is strongly conservative, but two Democrats are running in the May primary race. Taylor, who is running for reelection, won with around 74% of the vote in 2024. He is opposed by another Republican.

Who is Jen Mazzuckelli?

Mazzuckelli is unemployed and previously worked as a teacher. She posts political content on Facebook and TikTok, and has recently posted about the Department of Justice's handling of the Epstein investigation and the United States' military operation in Iran.

In an email to The Enquirer, she called for a Congress-led bipartisan commission that would create a full account of Epstein's alleged sex trafficking and other crimes. If elected, she said addressing affordability issues ‒ like the cost of healthcare, housing and food costs ‒ would also be one of her priorities.

In February, she spoke at a Clermont County Commissioners meeting to oppose the county's cooperation with ICE.

Mazzuckelli lives in Clermont County, according to court records. She ran unsuccessfully for commissioner in 2024.

Who is Todd Wilson?

Wilson lives in Athens County and graduated from Ohio University. This is the first time he's run for public office. He's held jobs in a variety of fields ‒ manufacturing, small business, store management, and currently works at his alma mater.

On his campaign website, Wilson says he'd like to create new business opportunities in rural areas, support farmers and invest more money into public and trade schools. Wilson told The Enquirer he's opposed to fracking and data centers.

"I intend to show that you can have strong borders and still be kind to your neighbors, you can reduce crime while reducing inmate populations, you can have a country where industry thrives and so do small businesses," his campaign website reads.

Wilson also posts on Facebook, where he answers questions from followers.
