Christian earns Democratic nomination for 12th Congressional District
Jerrad Christian (D) will face incumbent Congressman Troy Balderson (R) in the November general election for Ohio’s 12th District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives after winning the Democratic primary on Tuesday.
On Tuesday night, Christian posted the following on his Facebook page: “WE JUST WON THE PRIMARY. To every person who’s supported me these past six months and every person who voted in the primary, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ve said from the start that we’re building a winning movement in Ohio’s 12th, and you proved me right today.”
Christian received 15,887 votes (46.42%) across the 10 counties that make up the 12th District. He defeated two fellow Democrats: Daniel Crawford who received 11,485 votes (33.56%) and Jason Reynard who garnered 6,855 votes (20.03%).
In Delaware County, Christian led the way with 4,391 votes (48.95%), followed by Crawford 2,905 (32.39%) and Reynard 1,674 (18.66%).
