Mark Tedford secured the 2026 Republican nomination for Oklahoma’s 1st District one day after finishing first in the June 16 primary, as Jackson Lahmeyer, the runner-up, withdrew his candidacy amid revelations that he had exchanged sexual messages with a woman who was not his wife. Lahmeyer had been the early Republican frontrunner and had been endorsed by President Donald Trump prior to the news reports about his texting.
