Harvie files defamation lawsuit against pro-Fitzpatrick super PAC
Democrat Bob Harvie says U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick has never faced an opponent like him: a two-time winner of countywide elections and a lifelong Lower Bucks resident.
Bob Harvie, the Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District, has filed a defamation lawsuit against a super PAC that supports his November general election opponent, incumbent U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-1.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, claims that defendants Defending America PAC Inc. and its president Chris Pack have defamed Harvie by “repeatedly and recklessly publishing false and defamatory statements imputing criminal conduct that go beyond the bounds even of a highly contested political campaign.”
