Officials make announcements for candidacy in PA 15th Congressional District
Congressman Glenn Thompson is running for re-election.
The republican announced on Thursday that he’s seeking another term representing Pennsylvania’s 15th Congressional District, one of the largest districts east of the Mississippi.
Thompson called serving in the House the “honor of a lifetime,” and said he remains optimistic about the work ahead.
In his announcement, he highlighted his role as the first Pennsylvania lawmaker in more than 150 years to chair the House Agriculture Committee.
He also pointed to his work supporting veterans, career and technical education and rural economic development.
He said, “Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of noise out there, and despite all the noise, I believe that through collaboration, hard work, and the right temperament, we will continue to do great things for our communities, Pennsylvania, and this great country.”
And Thompson may have some local competition.
