Technical College of the Lowcountry receives $5.9M grant for workforce training center

BLUFFTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The Technical College of the Lowcountry has received a $5.9 million federal grant to help complete construction of a new workforce training center at its Bluffton New River Campus.
U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., announced Friday that the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration awarded the funding for the Arthur E. Brown Regional Workforce Training Center.
According to Mace's office, the grant closes the remaining funding gap for the $27.4 million project, which is designed to prepare students for careers in advanced manufacturing, logistics, health care and other high-demand industries.
