Midland County awarded $24M federal grant for I-20/Lamesa Road interchange project
MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - A major transportation project in Midland County is moving forward after the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded a $24 million federal grant for improvements to the I-20 and Lamesa Road interchange.
Congressman August Pfluger announced Tuesday that the project received a fiscal year 2026 Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant.
The funding will be used to reconstruct the I-20/Lamesa Road interchange, improve access ramps and upgrade nearby traffic signals.
More details, including a construction timeline, are expected to be released as they become available.
