Like father, like son: Thurman and Brandon Bartie reflect on successful runoff elections
Country music icon Dolly Parton died in Nashville on Tuesday, her nephew confirmed in a video posted to her social accounts.
PORT ARTHUR — Brandon Bartie defeated incumbent Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Joseph Guillory II, 756 votes (57%) to 578 votes (43%).
Bartie told KFDM's Iman Abraham in a live report that he thanks his supporters and he's ready to work for the community.
Guillory spoke with Iman and released a statement:
"We have done everything that God called us to do. We showed up every day for the people. We helped the people. We never hurt the people. So, we're definitely proud of our work record and our accomplishments. We are not feeling any type of way, other than joy and peace. I want to congratulate my opponent and wish him well."
