USA: Port Freeport Receives Grant to Improve Operations at Velasco Terminal
Port Freeport was awarded an USD 11 million grant from the Fiscal Year 2025 Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP), granted by the U.S. Maritime Administration (Marad). The project will transform approximately 4 hectares into a high-performance cargo handling area, including the replacement of the stabilized limestone surface with high-strength concrete pavement, advanced stormwater drainage systems, and high-mast lighting.
