Results from Virginia's 2026 primary
RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Virginia voters headed to the polls to Tuesday to choose candidates for U.S. House races and other elections.
Three candidates were vying for the Republican nomination. Bert Mizusawa came out on top with nearly 53% of the vote.
The winner faces Democratic incumbent Sen. Mark Warner in November.
Seven candidates were vying for the Democratic nomination in the 1st District. Henrico Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Taylor, with 51.5% of the vote, came out on top.
The winner faces Republican incumbent Rep. Rob Wittman in November.
This district covers parts of Chesterfield, Henrico and Hanover counties, among others.
Democrat Jennifer McClellan ran unopposed in Virginia’s 4th Congressional District.
The 4th Congressional District covers all of Richmond and parts of Chesterfield and Henrico counties, among others.
Both Republicans and Democrats had primaries in the 5th District.
