Subramanyam Raises Alarm as Loudoun Sees Increase in Food Insecurity

The need for food and grocery support in Loudoun is on the rise, and Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA-10) says it’s tied to cuts in federal funding.
Subramanyam held a town hall in Leesburg this week to hear from county residents and community support organizations about their concerns and the impacts of changes that were made in President Donald J. Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill.
“Our community is facing significant food insecurity brought on by the cuts to the federal workforce and contractors especially,” Subramanyam said. “Food pantries saw a sharp rise during the shutdowns, but they're still seeing a pretty high demand.”
