Michael Baumgartner, Carmela Conroy lead race for Congressional District 5

Republican incumbent Michael Baumgartner and Democrat Carmela Conroy are leading the race for Washington's 5th Congressional District.
Baumgartner led with 54,205 votes, or 47.97%. Conroy received 23,536 votes, or 20.83%, according to early election results released Tuesday, August 4.
"We work hard for the people of Eastern Washington and it's great to see they continue to have confidence in me as we move on to the general election," Baumgartner said.
In Walla Walla County, Baumgartner received 4,304 votes, 47.28%, while Conroy received 1153 votes, 12.67%.
"I'm very grateful to the voters of the district," Conroy said.
